Founding Crystal Waters in May 2000, Dan has been in the industry nearly all his life. He first started getting involved with fish at the young age of just 11 as a result of family influences.
Getting sucked into working so young, Dan started off helping out his mum on a Sunday just down the road at Ellough Market in Suffolk. Instantly he was a natural with the customers and grew very passionate about the industry. From the age of 12-17 Dan went to all lengths of the country sourcing and selling fish.
At the age of just 18 Dan had worked hard enough to become self-employed and run his own set of retail markets, such as Saffron Walden, Hadleigh, Southwold and many more.
Just before he turned 26 Dan bought his own premises to pursue his new dream of producing the best smoke fish around and supply it nationwide. For the first year he prioritised on selling and becoming a big supplier of fresh fish to then gather the funds to acquire the equipment and the knowledge to make the incredible smoked products you eat today.
